We are very glad to inform that B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is accredited from 8.11.2013 onwards.
Two Days Workshop on "Optimization using Statistical Tools was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering on 22nd & 23rd Nov'2013 for the benefit of Faculty of Engineering Colleges, Research Scholars and PG students of all the Engineering Colleges. Vice Principal Dr.S.Nagarajan, Welcomed the gathering. Dr.R.Kasilingam, Reader, Department of Management Studies, Pondicherry University, was honoured by Dr.R.Rajaram, Dean, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The first day Dr.R.Kasilingam, focussed on the topic hypothesis testing, Chi-Square Test, ANOVA, Paired-t-test, Correlation and Regression by hands on training session. In the second day, the first session was handled by Dr.R.Rajaram. He gave a special talk on "Statistical Studies on Population". The second session was continued by Dr.R.Kasilingam, which covered the area of Efficiency Analysis using ARIMA. The participants gained more knowledge about statistical tools. They got well versed with the software SPSS 16.0 . The workshop came to an end with a vote of thanks by Dr.P.Sivakumar, Profesor and Head, the Department of the Mechanical Engineering.
We the Department of Mechanical Engineering heartfully congratulate K.S. Shriram of II year (MECH) who stood FIRST in Speed Skating conducted by Madurai District Roller Skating Association. He also bagged the Individual Overall Championship during the tournament.

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a guest lecture on 27/07/13 at the Turing Seminar Hall for the benefit of final year Mechanical students. Mr Muthukumaran gave the welcome address followed by the introduction of the Chief Guest Dr.Ramanathan, Professor, Bedfordshire University of Business School, United Kingdom by Mr Tom Cyriac Paul. Dr.Ramanthan delivered a lecture on "BIG DATA: Why it is important?". The session was very interactive and it gave a different insight to the students to approach the project in a multidimensional way. Mr. Sri Vignesh proposed the vote of thanks.

We deeply condole the sudden death of Rean francis (MECH 2010 Batch) in a tragic accident happened on May 22, 2013.
May his soul rest in peace. Our heart goes to the bereaved family members.
Taking this into account we advice the student community to take utmost precaution while driving.
