Theorem :

          Life consists of both happiness and sadness .

To prove :

          Life    = ½ happiness + ½ sadness

Solution :

          Consider,

          Life + joy              =        Happiness -1

          Life - joy               =        Sadness     -2

Adding Equation 1 & 2 :

          2 Life          =        Happiness + Sadness

             Life          =        Happiness + Sadness

                                                    2

          Life              =       ½ Happiness + ½ Sadness

Hence the theorem is proved.

                 Proof:

                   We Know that,

                        1 = 1*1        à 1

                        1 = -1 * -1    à 2­_­­

                        1 = 1             à 3

                    Substituting 1 & 2 in 3

                        1 * 1 = -1 * -1

                   Taking square roots on both sides, we get

                   square root of 1 * square root of 1 =   square root of -1 * square root of -1

                   we know that square root of 1 is 1 & square root of  -1 is i

             \ 1 = i­­­­­² [since i­­­­­^{2 = -1]}

                               1 = -1.

                           Hence it’s proved.
