We are glad to inform that Department of Mechanical Engineering- 'Institution of Engineers' students chapter organised various events for II and III year mechanical engineering students on 06.03.2013 in Core block Conference hall at 1.30pm. The session started with Tamizh Thai Vazhthu followed by Welcome address by Mr.Muthu Kumaran III year mechanical. The events conducted are Q-fest, Ex-Tempo, Word Magic and Puzzles. We congratulate K.YUVARAJA  of Final year Mechanical Engineering for winning the First place in the Event Assemble and Dismantle held during the National level technical Symposium , MEXPLOSION 12 conducted by Anand Institute of Higher Technology.

The inaugural function of Institution of Engineers, Students Chapter (Mechanical Engineering) was inaugurated on 30.07.12 at 4.15 pm in our college auditorium. Mr. S. Marichamy, Asst.Prof. welcomed the gathering. Mr. Ganapathy Subramaniyam, final year Mechanical Student highlighted the details and plans of the chapter. Mrs. Pritima, HOD, Mechanical Engineering, made an official introduction of the following office bearers. Mr. S. Marichamy, as Student Advisor, Mr. Ganapathy Subramaniyan, as Secretary, Mr. Harish as Joint Secretary and Mr. Ganeshwar as Student Executive. Dr. S. Kathirrvelu, Principal, in his key note address greeted and outlined the role and significance of this chapter. He quoted this chapter as “the liveliest mechanical part”. He explained three fold purpose of this institution as: oneness of students, working together is success and creating leadership qualities. He correlated that this chapter is for the students, by the students and to the students. Also, he emphasized that involvement of students in these activities will enhance the qualities such as leadership, cooperation, coordination and can accumulate knowledge through various exposures. Today's engineers should reframe this scenario by learning, experiencing and involving themselves in chapter's activities. The chapter's pledge was taken by all members as a sign of promise and faith. The event came to a fine closure with Mr.Ganeshwar's vote of thanks.  

The department of Mechanical Engineering inaugurates "IE student chapter" on 30th July 2012 at 4.00 p.m. in the main block conference hall.
