Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the Faculty Development Programme on SOLIDWORKS 2014 for the benefit of faculty members. The session started with the welcome address given by Mr.R.kamalakannan AP/MECH. The programme was conducted by Mr.Gokulrangarajan , Simulation Application Engineer from SIMTEK , chennai. The session includes demonstration on Modelling of parts, Assembly of Parts, Simulation, Motion simulation , CFD etc..The session was more interactive . The faculty members of both Mechanical Engineering and Civil Enginnering attended the programme.Finally vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.M.Shunmugasundaram, AP/MECH
Department of Mechanical Engineering along with Institution of Engineers - Students Chapter organized the seminar on " Exergy and its application " for the benefit of II Year and III Year Mechanical Engineering students on 6 th May 2014 at core block conference hall. Mr.B.Prabhu , AP/MECH proposed the welcome address and introduced the key speaker to the audience. The seminar was given by the key speaker namely Dr.A.Vallan Arasu, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai.The topics covered were Introduction to Exergy, Available and unavailable energy,work potential of energy, Exergy associated with kinetic and potential energy, reversible work and irreversibility , Exergy analysis of parabolic trough collector, collector thermal efficiency,second law efficiency etc. The session was more interactive and useful to the students. The session came to an end by vote of thanks delivered by K.Ganeshwar of III Year Mechanical Engineering.
Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the guest lecture on Heat Exchangers at the Turing Hall on 9th April , 2014 for the benefit of II year Mechanical students.Mr.Shriram of II year proposed the welcome address and introduced the guest . The lecture was given by Mr.A.M.Nagarajan, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering from KLN College of Engineering.He explained the importance of heat exchangers, its types,selection, monitoring and maintenance and its application. This programme was really interactive and hands on training was given to the students. Finally vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.Mohd.Abdul Malik.
We are delighted and honoured to host the Workshop on Research methodology for Science and Engineering today (29/03/14) in Ramanujam Conference hall. The key speakers for the workshop are Dr.R.Rajaram, Professor & Dean, Department of CSE, VCE and Dr,N.Krishnan, Professor from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Thirunelveli.Around 120 Participants from various colleges attended the programme.
