Workshop on Optimization using Statistical Tools

Two Days Workshop on "Optimization using Statistical Tools was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering on 22nd & 23rd Nov'2013 for the benefit of Faculty of Engineering Colleges, Research Scholars and PG students of all the Engineering Colleges. Vice Principal Dr.S.Nagarajan, Welcomed the gathering. Dr.R.Kasilingam, Reader, Department of Management Studies, Pondicherry University, was honoured by Dr.R.Rajaram, Dean, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The first day Dr.R.Kasilingam, focussed on the topic hypothesis testing, Chi-Square Test, ANOVA, Paired-t-test, Correlation and Regression by hands on training session. In the second day, the first session was handled by Dr.R.Rajaram. He gave a special talk on "Statistical Studies on Population". The second session was continued by Dr.R.Kasilingam, which covered the area of Efficiency Analysis using ARIMA. The participants gained more knowledge about statistical tools. They got well versed with the software SPSS 16.0 . The workshop came to an end with a vote of thanks by Dr.P.Sivakumar, Profesor and Head, the Department of the Mechanical Engineering.
