21st Corporate voice program by Mr.Sujith Kumar on 25-07-2015

 

Vickram College of Engineering conducted the 21st Corporate Voice Program for the III and final year students on 25th of July, 2015. The final year student, Chitra from the department of CSE, welcomed the gathering.

The Joint Secretary Mr.M.S. Vikram and the Principal, Dr. S. Nagarajan took part in the program by showing their ardent involvement.The Chief-Guest Mr.Sujith Kumar, HR Business Leader, Infosys Founder- Maatram Foundation, Chennai presented the chief guest address.

Mr.Sujith Kumar delivered the special address on “How to build a dream career”. He said “Everybody should shape their career based on the strengths and not on the opportunities. It is good to choose the career path of one’s interest rather than let opportunities define one’s career.”

He insisted the students to figure out what they are good at and shouldn’t be doing the things they’re not good at and don’t enjoy. He also insisted, to be successful in interview, one should know their greatest talent and purpose, and learn to speak with clarity and confidence about it and urged the students to devolep learnability skill and be inquisitive.He advised the students to refrain from seeking a “job” in life and choose a career, that will give them satisfaction.

He concluded with three key points that students should posses to build a dream career- Attitude,skill and knowledge.His anecdotes held the young crowd in rapt attention when it was not in splits over the humourous ones. The program ends with the vote of thanks by Venkatesh, Department of EEE.

20th Corporate Voice program by Mr. Sivakumar Palaniappan on 24-07-2015

The 20th Corporate Voice  program was held in our campus on 24th of July for the final year students from various departments. Ms. Malini Priyanka from ECE department submitted the welcome address.

Mr. MS. Vikram, the Joint Secretary and the Principal, Dr. S. Nagarajan of the college honoured the chief guest by presenting a memento. They felt very glad to invite the chief guest to deliver a lecture on "Take Charge of Your Placements" in this fine occasion.

The chief guest, Mr. Sivakumar Palaniappan, Founder& Chief Mentor in Mastering Mind Academy, Coimbatore initiated his speech by appreciating Mr. Veerapandian Ganesan, IAS, for his passionate effort to achieve the attainment. He demanded that even ordinary man can reach the goal through their ardent attempt.

He urged the students to visualize as per the words of Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam to shine as an entrepreneur as well as to acquire high positions in reputed institutions.  He said that the dreamers will always succeed in their life  than the persons dealing with facts.  He also gave a lot of illustrations from his own experience in his  working environment  for this kind of achievement.

The speaker also depicted about the need for clarity and confidence in ambition. He said that the students should have more self-assurance and individuality to accomplish their desire. He also insisted the students to extend their knowledge in soft skills including the academics, which will help them to adopt job possibilities as soon as possible. He motivated the students to start with a blank paper instead of any format to prove their excellence. The  program ended with the vote of thanks submitted by Manikandan, the final year student from department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

18th Corporate Voice program by Mr.Robert Rajasekaran on 21-07-2015

Vickram College of Engineering conducted  the 18th Corporate Voice Program for the III and final year students on 21st July.  The  final year student, Priyadharshini from the department of Civil, welcomed the gathering.

        The Chairman, Mr. M.K.S Sreenivasan, the Joint Secretary M.S. Vikram and the Principal, Dr. S. Nagarajan  took part in the program by showing their ardent involvement. The chairman  submitted the guest preamble with a warm welcome to the chief guests.

            The Chief-Guest Er. M. Robert Rajasekaran, Additional Deputy General Manager, L&T, Chennai, presented the chief guest address. In his address, he insisted that the students must utilize the opportunities provided by the government as well as by the private sectors for seeking jobs.  He also mentioned that the plans like, arranging Wi-Fi facilities in all stations, elimination of paper tickets, escalators in all stations etc. will be recommended in Railways. Hence all engineering students will be getting job opportunities in the Railway department. Then he gave a detailed format for preparing resumes for applying jobs. In his conclusion, he insisted the students to possess life skills apart from their academics. Then the program came to an end with vote of thanks by Praveen Kumar, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

19th Corporate Voice program by Mr.kalyana Sundaram on 22-07-2015

Vickram College of Engineering conducted  the 19th Corporate Voice Program for the III, II and final year students on 22nd July.  The  final year student, Harsha from the department of EEE, welcomed the gathering.

 Mr.Kalyana Sundaram, CEO, Great Innovus Solutions Pvt Ltd, Madurai presented the chief guest address on the topic “ Employment Trends 2015 “. He initiated his speech by persisting the students to have plan in their Engineering path. He motivated the students to participate in Symposium, paper presentation and contest which will increase their opportunities for getting jobs. He described that, for Computer Science department students, Web Development is the most trending technology and charging the mobile phone by wireless modem is on the process. Hence students have wide opportunities in mobile technology. In addition to this, Nanotechnology is one of the most growing technologies, said Mr.Kalyan.

Students can adopt the current trend by self learning through online / offline. In his concluding speech, he focused an important thought that, students must undergo Industrial training in companies. The program came to an end with the vote of thanks given by the final year student, Dinesh Durai from the department of Computer Science.

Vickram College of Engineering organized 'Vickram Sixth Chess Championship for Schools-2015' in the college premises on 12th July, 2015 at 9 am. In this District Level Inter School Chess Championship 326 students from 55 schools from Madurai , Sivagangai and Dindigul District participated in the prestigious Vickram Chess Championship for Schools- Founders Trophy-2015.

M.Senthilkumar physical director welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was submitted by the Chief Guest Mrs.SHANTHI BALAJI inspector of police poovanthi. . The Director of Vickram Group of Institutions Mr.M.S.R.Vijaysrieenivase and The Principal, Dr. S. Nagarajan, awarded the prizes and the shield to the winners and to the runners.

In the category of Under 11, B.S.Aswinkumar, Keren Public Schooll has achieved the first prize and B.Velmurugan, Nadar HSS has secured Second Prize whereas S.Rajkumar, Dolphin School has secured the third prize.

In the Under 14 category, M.Shyam Sundar, Velammal school achieved the first prize.

M.Amarnath, Donbosco School bagged the second prize. B.Subash Aravindh, Keren Public School got the third prize.

In the Category of Under 17, B.S.Girinath, Keren MHSS secured the first Prize, whereas B.Selvamurugan, NHSS has got the second prize and S.Sanjay Ram, SBOA School bagged the third Prize.

A certificate, Trophy and cash prize of Rs 1000, Rs.750 and Rs. 500 was given to the winners of the first, second and third prize respectively. All the participants were issued with the participation certificates. Dr. Reynold, The Chess Coach of Keren School gave the feedback insisting the Pros and Cons of the program. The program came to the end with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. B.T. Sethuraman, Secretary, Madurai District chess Association. The involvement of the Physical Education Department made this event a successful one.
