Guest lecture by Professor Dr. Dik Morling University of Westminster, London, UK for IET KKLN 4TH MEETING ON GLOBAL ATTRIBUTES OF AN ENGINEER

 

On 19th February 2015 at J.C .Residency,Madurai the IET KKLN 4th meeting started with the Welcome address by Dr.N.Albert Singh Secretary, IET Kanyakumari Local Network.The Introduction of IET by Mr.S.Raghavan Business Development Manager (South India),IET India Office.The introduction of Chief Guest Dr.M.Marsaline Beno Chairman –YPS, IET Kanyakumari Local Network Technology The Leadership Talk is presented in the Theme of GLOBAL ATTRIBUTES OF AN ENGINEER by Dr. Dik Morling Emeritus Professor,University of Westminster, London, UK.The guest speaker discussed about the improvement of Engineering students quality with indusrial exposures and self improvements in their studying carrier.The Vote of thanks is presented By Er.M.S.Vikram Executive Member, IET Kanyakumari Local Network.The programme starts at 6 pm and ends at 8.30 With Networking Reception & Dinner.The Delegates,IET students and staff from BSNL and various Engineering colleges participated in this programme.

Resource Center - Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay

It is Happy to inform that Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay has decided to make Vickram College of Engineering as Resource Center. The project is part of the National Mission on Education through ICT, MHRD, Govt. of India to spread IT Literacy all over India.

10 th State level Inter Schools Football Tournament-2015

The 10th State level Inter Schools Football Tournament was held on 30th and 31th January, 2015. 16 teams from various schools, actively participated with full enthusiasm. Er. M.S.Vickram, Joint Secretary, Vickram schools and colleges inaugurated the tournament. At the end of first day, American college hr sec School (sports hostel) Madurai Savitha bai School Madurai, M.V Hr.Sec.School, KARAIKUDI, and S.B.O.A. Matriculation School, Madurai, were qualified for the semi-final match, which was held on 30th January, 2015

 

In the first semi final, Americon college hr sec School (sports hostel) Madurai and Savitha bai School Madurai , and in the Second semi final,S.B.O.A. Matriculation School, Madurai and Movie Hr.Sec.School, KARAIKUDI,, clashed vigorously Americon college hr sec School (sports hostel) Madurai and Movie Hr.Sec.School, KARAIKUDI have entered the finals by beating their rivals with 6.2 scores respectively.

Americon college hr sec School (sports hostel) Madurai bagged the Vickram Trophy after a tough fight with 6-2 margin. . It has won a cash award of Rs.3500 along with the winners Rolling trophy. Movie Hr.Sec.School, KARAIKUDI won the runners up Rolling Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 2000. S.B.O.A. Matriculation School, Madurai, secured third position and was offered with a cash prize of Rs.1500 and the fourth position went to Savitha bai School Madurai, Madurai, and it was offered a cash prize of Rs.1000.

The most thrilling Championship tournament came to a fine closure with the valedictory function in the presence of our Chairman Er.M.K.S. Sreenivasan. M.E and Er. M.S.Vikram Joint Secretary, Dr.S.Nagarajan, Principal and the Physical Education department was very much commendable.

Young Indian's seminar on Green Activism

 

Vickram College of Engineering, supported by the Young Indians, Madurai, has organised a one day Seminar on “Green Activism”, on 20-01-2015 at 02:30 pm in the Ramanujam Conference hall. Mr.K. Abdul Kani, founder, You Think, has graced the occasion as the distinguished guest speaker. Being a Limca book of Record holder, and organizer of more than 1,800 “Save Planet Earth” events across India, he has created awareness about protecting Mother Earth to more than 2 lakhs students across India. He was one of the special invitees to meet Mr. Al Gore, Vice President, USA, and an invitee to care for “Billion Trees Billion People” campaign by Ex. President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

"Trees are our life; Live green, Save Green, and Be green for ever; together we can work towards Green Nation building; India@75 is an initiative of Young Indians (Yi) which envisions how India should be in her 75th year of independence and seeks to bring together all the people of the industry, government, institutions, community groups and individuals to translate the vision of 'Grow Green' into a reality; 'Yi' is interested in the initiative at grassroots which must be converted it into a vision of our country. Green awareness must be shared by all people from all walks of life; National Volunteering Week (NVW), celebrated between 18th and 24th January 2015, is inspired by the the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India,' are some of the points he stressed upon.

187 students of Young Indians, Madurai Chapter have participated in this event. Dr. M.S. Vikram, joint Secretary, Vickram Schools and Colleges, honoured the guests. Dr. S. Nagarajan, Principal, presided over the function and welcomed the gathering. II year ECE Student Selvi. Grace Esther delivered the Vote of Thanks. Considering the noble cause, the management of Vickram College of Engineering has made elaborate arrangements for the successful conduction of this event. Ms.T.G.Sandya, member, Young Indians, Madurai Chapter, coordinated.
