LECTURE ON NANO TECHNOLOGY

A relevant and awesome lecture session on “Nano materials and nano technology” was handled by Dr.Jayavel, Director of Department of Nano Science and Technology, Anna University, Chennai for the students of Vickram College of Engineering on 4th september 2017. He said that the world governed by nano’s require a deep knowledge in nano science. The future belongs to those persons unravelling the bit and bytes of the materials and nano science. His vivid explanation of the techniques of micro- and nano-lithography and etching received excellent response from the students. He also highlighted some of the current applications of nanotechnology as well as those that can reasonably forecast. Nanotechnology combines solid state physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, biochemistry and biophysics, and materials science. In order to understand the unusual world of nanotechnology, he also gave an idea of the units of measure involved. It is a highly interdisciplinary as it involves ideas integrated from many traditional discipline. The programme has been a grand success due to the seminal talk delivered by our chief guests and the rapt attention exhibited by our students. This has been a real milestone in the annals of the science in creating a new brave India for 2020 as envisioned by our Former President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.
