One Day EDP for 2006 Batch

Entrepreneurship Development Program: The Motivation Campaign for Entrepreneurship was organized for the benefit of the final year students of our college, pertaining to three departments – Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Electrical & Electronics Engineering.  Our Chairman & Founder Mr. M.K.S. Sreenivasan, presided, and appealed to the students to entertain the thought of starting their own industrial organizations, after a few years of industrial exposure.  Becoming an entrepreneur is not only adding to one's own prosperity, but strengthening the fabric of our economy, as also serving the society at large.
 
Chief Guests, Sri M. Kathiresan, Circle Head, & Deputy General Manager of Indian Bank, & Sri B.T. Bangera, Managing Director, Hi-Tech Arai Pvt Ltd., Madurai.  Sri M. Kathiresan inaugurated the programme. In his keynote address, he listed the values to be imbibed in order to become successful entrepreneurs. Sri B.T.Bangera shared his personal experiences, and urged the students to be more competitive and daring to take on the challenges that arise in any entrepreneurial attempts.  He insisted that students should cultivate healthy attitude to life and strive hard to offer quality products or services in the market.


In the afternoon, two resource persons addressed the students – Mr. Ramesh, Asst. Director, MSME Development Institute, Chennai, & Mr. R. N. Iyengar, Consultant, Ma Foi Training Academy, Madurai.  Mr. Ramesh explained to the students that MSME is a central government body training the young graduates in entrepreneurial skills. Mr. R.N. Iyengar identified the entrepreneurial skills and explained how to develop them.  After the awareness session, an aptitude test was conducted for identifying the entrepreneurial skills in the students.

On 24-9-09, there was a Selection Committee which interviewed the shortlisted candidates.  Of these, 11 were identified to have good proposals to start enterprises of their own. The selected students are

3) R.Selvam
4) S.Sukumar
5) S.Arul Kumaran
6) M.Dinesh Kumar
7) M.Pradeep Kumar
8) I. Vaindu Kannan
9) N.Senthil Kumar
10) T. Solomon
11) L. Sivanarayanan.

These 11 students will be given six week training on development of entrepreneurial skills by experts from MSME Development Institute, Chennai during the semester holidays.
