Saying "YES" to Road Safety.

Road accidents have always been an inescapable act however hard one tries to stick on to the ways to prevent it. Vickramce came forward to create consciousness, and appreciate individuals who adhere to the road rules by celebrating '' Road Safety Programme'' on 18 Jan. '13. The event was held under the headship of our Management, Principal, A.O., and the Dean, I yr. at two venues: the college entrance, and poovanthi bus stop. 50 NSS students, pursuing B.E.,who were involved in the programme stuck reflectors on all the vehicles that passed by and advised the public on road safety. Placards with road rules and slogans designed were kept in array for easy view. We observed around 25 people with helmets. To encourage them on their commitment, we profferd them with sweets; and also insisted other commuters to wear helmes while riding. The Department of Police, Poovanthi gave their fullest support throughout the programme so as not to cause much traffic. We extend our gratitude to our Department of Transport for their earnest cooperation towards the programme.

The event had duo purpose: the public were cautioned of their safety, and it also served as an eyeopener for our young students who took a vow that they would indeed follow what they preached the public.
