The 9th Corporate Voice was held in our campus on 6th September 2013. It was conducted to benefit the Final Year and Pre Final Year Students of CSE & IT. This event will benefit the students and motivate them in the right direction and help them to visualise the corporate world and this will make them industry ready. Every day is an opportunity for learning, the students will be able to know where they are and how to match their talents with the company expectations.
The 9th Corporate Voice was held on 6th September 2013. Sri Minoo K. Duraipandy, Lead Systems Engineer, Trimble Navigation Ltd delivered on the topic ”Latest trend in Infrastructure, hosting solutions and software development” to the Final Year and Pre Final Year Students of CSE & IT. Mr. Minoo explored varous career options in computer science and Information technology and detailed the technical aspects associated with System engineer, Network engineer, Service Engineer, Operational Engineer, Software developer and Operations Engineer/Manager. An interactive session on latest trends in Infrastructure, hosting solutions and software development helped the students to understand and learn existing and emerging engineering technologies.
In a National Level Technical Symposium MECFEST'13 held at Mahalakshmi Engineering College, Trichy, on 6th Apr'13 Mr.G. Venkatraman and Mr.P. Moses Jebaraj of III CSE won Second prize in Paper presentation contest.
The CSI Event "Evolution of Internet and Email" was organized by the Department of CSE in association with CSI on 9th February,2013 from 10.00 AM to 12 PM inthe Conference Hall II. More than 150 students from CSE and IT department attended the guest lecture.
The event started with prayer song followed by Welcome Address and Introduction to the Chief Guest by R. Bhavithra and S. Subhasini of III CSE. The Chief Guest Dr T.V.Gopal, Chairperson, CSI Communication,Chennai addressed the students with loads of information on internet and email. The session ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Alan John Samuel of III CSE.
CSE Department organized seminar on Cleanroom Software Engineering for Zero Defect Software sponsored by CSIR from 1st to 5th Oct 2012. Software Engineering Eminent Professors and Industrialist shared their exclusive knowledge on Recent development and research findings in Software engineering. 80 participants - comprising Under Graduate and Post Graduate students and Faculty Members from various colleges participated in this programme.

Security Vulnerability Protection. Dr. P. Venkatakrishnan from Vickram College of Engineering, Enathi shared his knowledge about Receiver Output Characteristics. Dr. N. Sivaram from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai disclosed research trends in Software Configuration Management. Mrs. A. M. Abirami from Thiagarajar College of Engineering,Madurai gave a hands on Protege v3.x tool, and explored Semantic Web Technologies ( Ontology, RDF, SPARQL). Dr. R. Rajaram from Vickram College of Engineering, Enathi gave a presentation on Quantitative Estimation of a Software. Dr. A.Askarunisa from Vickram College of Engineering, Enathi presented on Cleanroom Software Engineering Vs Traditional Software Engineering and gave a hands on session Latex Documentation. Dr. S. Saravana Kumar from M.A.M College of Engineering,Trichy explored Classification and Clustering. Dr. S. Selva kumar from Thiagarajar College of Engineering,Madurai presented on Mining Software Repository for Defect Prevention. The Seminar ended with the interactive session by Er. V. Ramprakash, Director , Industrial Estate, Madurai on Embedded Software Devaelopment. The feedback from the participants was quite encouraging.
An orientation program about the Computer Society of India was organised on 31/07/2012 from 10.30 A.M to 1.00p.m. Mr.Y.Kathiresan , Senior Manage, Directorate of Education(CSI),Chennai addressed the gathering of about 180 students from CSE and I.T on “YOUR UNIQUE IDENTITY”. The presentation comprised of professionalism, the benefit of being a CSI Student member, Industrial exposure and many other.The program inspired the students to involve them self in various activities. Student are motivated to organize various events in CSI
A National Level Technical Symposium was organised at Vickram College of Engineering for IT on 16th of March, 2012.
The Chief-Guest for the function was Mr.Jayanthan Solomon Thomas,Practice Director – Live Virtual Class ,Oracle University,APAC. In his address he said that students must develop their Communication and Soft- Skills along with the updation of the technical knowledge. The students should also work hard to meet out the expectations of the industry. The Principal of the college Dr. S. Kathirrvelu gave the presidential address. In the afternoon competitions like Poster Designing, Project Display,Tech-Quiz...etc were held. The Chair-Person Dr. S.Selvakumar, Assistant Professor of Information Technology, Thiagarajar college of Engineering , Madurai judged the events.
This mega event came to the end with the Valedictory Function in which the winners were awarded and rewarded by Dr.A.Askarunisa HOD/CSE
