GUEST LECTURE

A Guest Lecture programme was organised by the Department of Civil Engineering on 11-2-11 at the conference hall of Vickram College of Engineering for II Year and Pre-Final year students . The Resource Person was Er. Mathuram, Executive Engineer,Madurai Corporation. The programme commenced with the welcome address given by the Principal of the college Dr. S. Kathirrvelu. After that the Resource Person gave his presentation on the topic 'Environmental Issues and Solid Waste Management'. He discussed about various types of environmental issues and also suggested the solutions for preventing solid and liquid wastes. The second session started with the discussion on treatment of water and clarification of the doubts by the students. The programme came to the end with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof. & Head L. Ponraj Sankar,Department of Civil Engineering. 135 students and staff participated in this programme and reaped the benefits.
