Courchevel altiport

Courchevel is the name of a ski resort located in the French Alps, in the Tarentaise Valley, Savoie, Rhône-Alpes region. Courchevel has an airport (Courchevel Airport). The airport has the largest private area for private flights from all airports in the ski area in the world and a highway linking it with the rest of the world.
Courchevel's airport (45°23′51″N 6°38′06″E) also has a certain degree of infamy in the aviation industry as home to one of the shortest runways in the world, with a length of 525 metres and a gradient of 18.5% in order to help slow landing aircraft. The airport has a dangerous approach through deep valleys which can only be performed by specially certified pilots. On landing there is no go-around procedure, as most of the world's airports have - there is merely a very steep hill which has seen a few accidents since the airport first opened. Larger propeller aircraft such as the Twin Otter and Dash 7 (carrying up to 50 people) have been regular users of the airport over the years.

Induction of First C-130J Super Hercules

The Indian Air Force (IAF) celebrated the induction to service of its first Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) C-130J Super Hercules. The aircraft is the first of six C-130Js ordered under a U.S. Foreign Military Sale in late 2008. The IAF will fly an American aircraft after a gap of more than two decades after the Super Connie, and it is a historic moment for both countries. The C-130J is ideally suited to India's mission environment, which often involves operating out of austere, high elevation airstrips in hot conditions. The C-130J is powered by four Rolls Royce AE2100 engines and Dowty six-bladed props that provide the aircraft with significant power. The C-130J has been operated for the past several years in the mountainous areas of Afghanistan in conditions similar to India and performed exceptionally well.

Pocket digital pen

This is actually a digital pen which is capable of wirelessly transmitting characters as well as images it draws on paper to a computer. Pocket digital pen comprises of a specially designed digital pen and a memory unit, where it will feature Bluetooth connectivity as well as the ability to receive and send data. Whenever you use the pen to take down a note, it will automatically record whatever was written in the memory unit (ultrasound infrared). All relevant data will then be transferred over to a computer through Bluetooth.

This wireless setup is a dream for most folks, but like most other good things, they do come from humble beginnings. The wireless capability of the Pocket digital pen will expand further the use of the pen with mobile devices.

The pen plays nice with smartphones and tablet devices that have Bluetooth support as well, and intends to roll out applications for Android-based devices.

LIBYA ROCKS MARKETS

Oil prices soared to the highest level in more than two years as Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi urged his supporters to attack protesters who are violently challenging his 42-year rule. Only a small part of Libya's oil production appeared to be affected, though analysts fear that similar revolts will spread to OPEC heavyweights like Iran.

Libya holds the most oil reserves in Africa and is the world's 15th-largest crude exporter at 1.2 million barrels per day. Any production losses in Libya could be quickly absorbed by other countries like Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia currently produces around 8 million barrels per day. Eni, Libya's biggest oil producer, idled operations that produce one-quarter of the country's output at 244,000 barrels of oil and gas per day. Spain's Repsol-YPF, which also suspended production on Tuesday, produces about 34,777 barrels a day.

Austrian oil company OMV, which produces about 33,000 barrels a day said it will reduce production because of the unrest. Looking ahead, there are also knock-on effects from high oil prices. A jump in energy costs could hurt consumer spending and stymie a fragile recovery in developed countries. The crisis in the Middle East and North Africa — which has brought down governments in Tunisia and Egypt and sparked protests in Yemen, Bahrain, Iran, Morocco and Jordan — will put added pressure on weaker economies, especially those in Europe.

Value of parents!!

A father was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his highly educated son. Suddenly a crow perched on their window.

The Father asked his Son, "What is this?"

The Son replied "It is a crow".

After a few minutes, the Father asked his Son the 2nd time, "What is this?"

The Son said "Father, I have just now told you "It's a crow".

After a little while, the old Father again asked his Son the 3rd time, What is this?"

At this time some ex-pression of irritation was felt in the Son's tone when he said to his Father with a rebuff.
"It's a crow, a crow".

A little after, the Father again asked his Son the 4th time, "What is this?"

This time the Son shouted at his Father, "Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times 'IT IS A CROW'. Are you not able to understand this?"

A little later the Father went to his room and came back with an old tattered diary, which he had maintained since his Son was born. On opening a page, he asked his Son to read that page. When the son read it, the following words were written in the diary :-

"Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa, when a crow was sitting on the window. My Son asked me 23 times what it was, and I replied to him all 23 times that it was a Crow. I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question again and again for 23 times. I did not at all feel irritated I rather felt affection for my innocent child".

While the little child asked him 23 times "What is this", the Father had felt no irritation in replying to the same question all 23 times and when today the Father asked his Son the same question just 4 times, the Son felt irritated and annoyed..

So...

If your parents attain old age, do not repulse them or look at them as a burden, but speak to them a gracious word, be cool, obedient, humble and kind to them. Be considerate to your parents!

Why do we undergo trials & tribulations in life??

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed.
"Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer.
"That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
