Indoor Tropical Islands Resort in Brandenburg
Tropical Islands Resort is an artificial tropical resort in Brandenburg, Germany.
It is the world's third largest building, and is the world's largest single hall without supporting pillars inside. Inside, visitors will find an exotic environment with rain forest, beach, artificial sun, palm trees, orchids, and bird soundtrack. It resides inside a disused hangar. The hangar cost €78 million and was originally commissioned by Cargo lifter AG as an airship hangar, but the airship it was intended to house was never built.
Tropical Islands stretches across an area of 66,000 m², the size of eight football fields. It has perfect temperatures of 26 °C and is home to the world’s biggest indoor rainforest. It presents authentical tropical vegetation with 500 different plants and allows insights into the cultures of Brazil, Bali, Thailand, Malaysia and Kenya. Tropical Islands also features the world’s largest indoor rain forest (50,000 plants) and Germany’s highest waterslide (82 feet) and provides 42 mph slide experience.
