ECE Intelectium 2010-A Review

The department of Electronics and communication engineering organised INTELECTIUM ’10, National level technical symposium on Friday March 12, 2010. Er. N. Sivaraman, Director (R&D), Measurements and Controls India Ltd.,(MACIL) Bangalore was the Chief-Guest for this event. The symposium commenced with prayer.  After the welcome address by the Head of the Department Dr. Suja Ravi Isaac, Principal Dr. S. Kathirvelu made his presidential remarks. He advised the students and participants to cultivate good attitude, and to view life and its challenges as opportunities to come up in the ladder of one's career.  To become achievers in the field of science and technology, students should have sound attitude to life, cultivate sound reading habit, and work hard with determination to attain the goals in life. 

The Chief Guest Er.N. Sivaraman stressed the need for engineers to emerge as innovators.  All inventions are the result of hard work and commitment, and not merely accidental attainments. In the realm of communication, we find phenomenal improvement.  The use of cell phones, internet communication, and satellite technology have made life more comfortable, turning the whole globe into a village – making communication network easily accessible to the common man . His presentation on next generation communication network was inspiring and informative to the gang.

The paper presentation session was chaired by Dr. R.A. Alaguraja, Professor, TCE, Madurai. He guided the students in the discussion on the various topics.  The following students have been adjudged to be the winners: 1) PL. Rakumar & M. Sathish Kumar, ACTECH, Karaikudi win the first prize and a cash award of Rs. 3000/- and 2) Venkhat V, Pradeep B, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai took the second place, winning an award of Rs. 1500/-.

There was an exhibition of various projects done by our students and by students from other colleges as well. PL. Rakumar & M. Sathish Kumar, ACTECH, Karaikudi and B. Saktivel & S. Shabeerkhan, SACS MAVMM Engineering College, Madurai were the  winners in project display under  best project category.

In the valedictory function, feedback session was conducted. The hospitality, enthusiasm of the host institution and time management of the events were appreciated. Prizes were distributed by our Director Shri. S.R Vijayshrenivas and principal Dr. S. Kathirvelu. One of the student co-ordinators, Nair Rajesh of III year ECE proposed the vote of thanks. With the National anthem, the function came to a close
