IIT Madras has announced the official notification for GATE 2011. IIT Madras is the organizing institute for GATE 2011. This GATE 2011 notification is a part of GATE 2011 preparation Guide.
Most of the things are same as GATE 2010 except few online exams are added.
Mode application and fee:
The applications can be submitted both online and offline but online application is preferred. The fee details are as follows.
Online application:Rs. 800/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/PD (Persons with Disability)
Offline application: Rs. 1,000/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PD (Persons with Disability)

An Intimation received from Air Force HQ states that Indian Air Force invites application for the grant of commission as Pilots in IAF.
The Eligibility Conditions are as given below:-
1. Both male & Female,Final year students of any discipline with 60% aggregate marks and nil arrears and should have passed 10th and +2 with Maths and Physics as core subjects.
2. Should be able to submit Degree Provisional Certificate by 15 June 2011.
3. Age 19-23 years as on 01July 2011.

The Reserve Bank of India has launched the RBI young scholars award scheme to generate interest in and awareness about the Indian banking sector and RBI. Under the scheme, the RBI will select a maximum of 150 young scholars through a country wide competitive examination and awards scholarship. Selection test will focus on the role and functions of RBI and banks in India and will be held in English as well as in all major regional languages. Selected candidates will be required to work on project in selected offices of RBI for two to three months and will be paid a stipend of Rs. 7500/- per month during the duration of this project. RBI will assist outstation awardees in boarding and lodging. The awardees shall have no right/claim for an appointment in the RBI.
All students between 18 and 23 years of age, currently pursuing their undergraduate studies in any subject under any recognized universities in India are eligible to take the competitive examinations. There is no application fee. The selection test will be held on 9th January 2011 at various centers across India. The results of the selection test are likely to be announce in the middle of March, 2011. Computer Society of India (CSI) Education Directorate, Chennai is conducting Software Testing Examination at 9.00 am on Sunday the 26th September, 2010 at Thiagarajar College of Engineering.
In order to obtain certification the students will have to clear a two-part written examination of 100 marks.
1. Objective Type Questions : 40 marks.
2. Descriptive Type Questions: 60 marks.
The candidates will be given 3 hours duration to complete the abovesaid papers. Examination fee of Rs. 1,000 ( One thousand only) must be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of " CSI Headquarters Education" payable at Chennai.

IT and CSE third year students visited the biggest public sector in telecommunication,BSNL at thamukam and ellis nagar branch on 15th and 16th of sepember 2010.
The students were exposed to Processing of Fixed line trasmission ,3G technologies ,Mobile Cellular transmission , CDMA technologies and various routing technologies.
They also gained knowledge about the traffic and the traffic deducting equipments.
