ICTACT Youth Present 2015 Regional Finals on 16.09.2015-Report

The regional finals of national presentation contest organised by ICTACT was conducted in Vickram College of Engineering on 16.09.2015. The program began with a welcome address by Ms.Mona Nikkila, III Civil. The top ten contestants from various colleges competed with each other. The topics were thought provoking and covered various genres. They brought forth many innovative ideas and themes. The Jury members gave constructive ideas and motivated the contestants to grow. The jury members were Ms. Chhaya, Manager- HR from Tafe, Mr. Swaminathan, HR- Manager from New Gen, Mr. Sarwanesh, Director, B.Stat Data and Mr.Pandi Alaguraja, HR- Manager from Jouve India.

The second session started with the opening address by Dr.S.Nagarajan, Principal, Vickram College of Engineering. And it continued with an interesting session with the HR- Managers from various institutions. Ms. Chhaya from Tafe encouraged the girls to join in mechanical and auto mobile engineering as its opening many new doors of opportunities. Mr.Pandi Alaguraja from Jouve India advised the students to concentrate more on the problems of society and advised them to have a social eye. Freezing out social problems will channelize the carrier. He also encouraged the students to have long term and short term goals and asked the students should learn from the experience they gain. And encouraged them to become unique and more professional.

Mr.Swaminathan from New Gen, encouraged the students to relearn what they have learnt. And advised them to concentrate more on listening skills, number skills and communication skill. He encouraged the students to face life problems with positive attitude. He also quoted about presentation skills and emphasised more on problem solving techniques and decision making. Mr. Sarwanesh from B. Stat Data, spoke on creating a value for oneself and also emphasised on the importance of basics. He encouraged the students to learn the strategies of business and to view life practically. He also emphasised on overcoming the communication barriers in a simple way.

Mr. M.S. Vickram, the Director of Vickram college of Engineering gave mementos to the Jury members. And then the results were announced, Ms.S.K. Janani, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, secured the First Place and the second place by Mr. S. Ganesh Venkat, Ramco Institute of Technology and the third place by Mr. M. Ram Nath, Vickram college of Engineering. Mr. Amarnath, Corporate Initiative, ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, gave the vote of thanks. The program ended with the national anthem.
