One of the high-altitude railways in the world, Qingzang Railway also referred as Qinghai-Tibet railway. It links up Xining, Qinghai Province, to Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, in China. The 815 kilometers section from Xining to Golmud was opened way back in 1984. The remaining 1,142 kilometers section from Golmud to Lhasa was built after China’s recent economic growth. With more than 80% of the railway running at an altitude of 4000 meters above sea level, the trains are especially built to survive the high altitude environment. The Qingzang railway project engaged over 6,000 pieces of industrial equipment, and more than 20,000 workers. It is considered as one the major architectural achievements of China in 21st century.

The world of the rich and famous is fascinating for many of us. They lead the life many of us want and they do what we only dream of. Caviar is the roe of a large fish, especially sturgeon, which is salted, seasoned, and eaten as a delicacy or relish. Beluga caviar comes from a fish over 100 years old that is virtually unchanged for 120 million years. It comes from the Beluga Sturgeon, native to the Caspian Sea. Beluga caviar is composed of pea-sized, gray eggs. In general, the lighter the color, the more expensive it is. The grades are: 0 (darkest color), 00 (medium toned), and 000 (lightest color). The 000 grade is the most expensive and is sometimes referred to as “royal caviar”. In terms of texture, royal caviar is often described as rich and silky.
Almas caviar comes from Iran making it extremely rare and extremely expensive. The word ‘Almas’ means diamond, a fitting name for the world’s most expensive caviar. In Medieval Russia, caviar was a peasant food, but by the time Shakespeare wrote the famous, “twas caviary to the general,” caviar had gained its association with connoisseurship and luxury. An important fact about caviar is that the older the fish, the more elegant and exquisite is the flavor. The only known outlet is the Caviar House & Prunier in London that sells a kilo of the expensive Almas caviar in a 24-karat gold tin for £16,000, or about $25,000. Coincidentally, it is also where you can find the most expensive meal in Britain.
With drilling at sea, the sea floor can sometimes be thousands of feet below sea level. Therefore, while with onshore drilling the ground provides a platform to drill, at sea an artificial drilling platform must be constructed. Off-shore drilling has resulted in the discovery and delivery of a great number of large natural gas deposits. Semi submersible rigs are the most common type of offshore drilling rigs, combining the advantages of submersible rigs with the ability to drill in deep water. Semi-submersible platforms provide an inherently more stable drilling platform than a drilling ship, making them better suited for the harshest conditions. They are less susceptible to wind and waves. In the oil well drilling business, having the latest equipment helps; but it’s the human element that still makes the difference.
Perfume was first used by the Egyptians as part of their religious rituals. The eighteenth century saw a revolutionary advance in perfumery with the invention of eau de Cologne. As with industry and the arts, perfume was to undergo profound change in the nineteenth century. Changing tastes and the development of modern chemistry laid the foundations of perfumery as we know it today. The interest in fragrance, health, and hygiene continued to expand over the entire western world, bringing us to its current level. Citrus, Chypre, Oriental, Aromatic, Woody are some of the olfactory groups. A world without perfume would be a world without history!

Trigeminal neuralgia (TN), tic douloureux (also known as prosopalgia, the Suicide Disease or Fothergill’s disease) is a neuropathic disorder characterized by episodes of intense pain in the face, originating from the trigeminal nerve. One, two, or all three branches of the nerve may be affected.
It is, "one of the most painful conditions known to humans, yet remains an enigma to many health professionals."This pain may be felt in the ear, eye, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, cheeks, teeth, and/or jaw and side of the face; some patients also experience pain in their left index finger.Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is not easily controlled and there is no cure.It is estimated that 1 in 15,000 people suffer from trigeminal neuralgia, although the actual figure may be significantly higher due to frequent misdiagnosis. In a majority of cases, TN symptoms begin appearing after the age of 50, although there have been cases with patients being as young as three years of age. It is more common in females than males.
Signs and symptoms
The disorder is characterized by episodes of intense facial pain that last from a few seconds to several minutes or hours. The episodes of intense pain may occur paroxysmally. To describe the pain sensation, patients may describe a trigger area on the face so sensitive that touching or even air currents can trigger an episode; however, in many patients the pain is generated spontaneously without any apparent stimulation. It affects lifestyle as it can be triggered by common activities such as eating, talking, shaving and brushing teeth. Wind, high pitched sounds, loud noises such as concerts or crowds, chewing, and talking can aggravate the condition in many patients. The attacks are said by those affected to feel like stabbing electric shocks, burning, pressing, crushing, exploding or shooting pain that becomes intractable.
Cause
The trigeminal nerve is the fifth cranial nerve, a mixed cranial nerve responsible for sensory data such as tactition (pressure), thermoception (temperature), and nociception (pain) originating from the face above the jawline; it is also responsible for the motor function of the muscles of mastication, the muscles involved in chewing but not facial expression.
Treatment
1. Medications
2. Surgery
3. Stereotactic radiation therapy
Notable cases
Australian author Colleen McCullough has trigeminal neuralgia and has undergone surgical treatment in Jan 2010.[27]
High profile entrepreneur and author Melissa Seymour was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia in 2009 and underwent Microvascular Decompression Surgery in a well documented case covered by magazines and newspapers which helped to raise public awareness of the illness in Australia. Seymour was subsequently made a Patron of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association of Australia

The trigeminal nerve (the fifth cranial nerve, also called the fifth nerve, or simply CNV or CN5) is responsible for sensation in the face. Sensory information from the face and body is processed by parallel pathways in the central nervous system.
The fifth nerve is primarily a sensory nerve, but it also has certain motor functions (biting, chewing, and swallowing).
Yasukuni is a shrine to house the actual souls of the dead soldiers and others who died fighting on behalf of the Emperor of Japan. The shrine is dedicated to give peace and rest to all those enshrined there. But things are a little more complex. The shrine is believed to hold the spirits of dead soldiers, and that with enshrinement come absolution of all sins. The problem is that Japanese war criminals were also enshrined at Yasakuni. The presence of these spirits has led to international controversy over whether Japanese politicians should pray at the shrine. It was the only place to which the Emperor of Japan bowed.
A class of seventh-graders in Cottonwood, California, who were participating in a special NASA program, spotted an unusual hole on the surface of Mars.
Scientists now think the hole is a pit crater that leads into a buried Martian cave. It's estimated to be 620 feet wide and at least 380 feet deep. Scientists are excited because unknown minerals could be hidden in these caves. One theory suggests ancient volcanoes created the tunnels. The tunnels then became hollowed out once the Martian lava cooled. Holes found are like skylights into these unexplored caves.
