New York May 2010 - Prestigious Woelfel Best Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award for Nautilus Rigging!
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers are proud to announce that the 2010 - ASME-IPTI Woelfel Best Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award for a redesigned lifting hook has been awarded to Nautilus Rigging LLP for the Nautilus Hooks range.

The Award was announced at the annual Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas, and is given for the product, device or system which ‘best reflects innovation and/or practical use of mechanical engineering in solving problems, improving design or maximising performance’.
Relevant judging criteria included novelty, impact on industry, health and safety implications, state of development and presentation. The ASME judges recognised Nautilus Hooks as a simple, innovative and very effective deign that achieves a new level of safety for lifting hooks that has global applications and will provide benefits to users across a broad range of Industries,both offshore and onshore.

Designed to eliminate pinch and trap injuries associated with traditional latch-lock lifting hooks, the award further confirms Nautilus's conviction that this innovation heralds the arrival of the next generation of lifting hooks.

Nautilus Hooks have demonstrated a reduction in hand injuries in high risk lifting operations, including the dynamic offshore environment, shipping, mining and construction industry.

Nautilus Hooks, launched at Offshore Europe in September 2009, are available in a range of WLL sizes all of which have either a swivel, eye or clevis top suitable for any applications.
