Industrial Visit - ECE

Date of Visit:14.2.11 & 15.2.11.
Visit to: Tuticorin Port, Tamil Nadu.
Visitors involved: II ECE(60 students), III ECE(58 students).
Basic purpose of visit: To introduce signaling and communication concepts to the students, to impart practical knowledge.
Activities conducted: The visit lasted for about 6 hours. A good explanation was given with introduction to RADAR,how the ships are allowed to enter the port, How the pilot boat does legal verification ,clearance from traffic station, availability of free berth etc.The visit also includes on-board ship seeing which really enthralled the students.
Outcomes from Visit:
Overall it was a good experience for the students. The visit gave them a practical knowledge of signaling and communication.
