Vickram College of Engineering Joins hands with ICTACT

Our college has become a Member of ICTACT, with a view to serve the students of rural and backward areas in a better manner by providing them the required employable skills, in addition to the academic knowledge which is being imparted, with utmost care.

Information and Communication Technological Academy of Tamilnadu( ICTACT) is a non-profit autonomous organization focusing to improve the quality of students passing out of institutes and colleges in Tamil Nadu to make them industry ready and immediately employable in the ICT services and the ICT Manufacturing sectors. This will meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more employment in state especially small cities and rural areas.

ICTACT is governed by an autonomous board of directors with representations from the IT, Higher Education, Industry, Labor & Employment departments of Government of Tamil Nadu, leading companies, leading educational Institutions and Industries like CTS, TCS etc.

ICTACT plays a vital role in inculcating interest among the students regarding the existing industrial requirements and the improvement needed to match that. It would be a hub for the infusion of the industry professionals conversant with the contemporary subject areas in demand, the faculties and the learned students. This program anticipates to train around 5000 teachers across the state in a span of three years which will benefit around 2,50,000 students. Curriculum related research would be undertaken in collaboration with leading institutes in India and abroad. This will make the students meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more employments. The industry related key subject areas offered by the academy include “Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics, Communication Technology and others”.

The focus of Vickram College of Engineering, is to work jointly with the ICTACT in providing more job opportunities to the deserving and aspiring students,and create more entrepreneurs among them who in turn will take care of the future economy of the State in particular and the Nation in general.
