The Institution of Engineers (India) Madurai Local Centre under the aegis of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Division Board, IEI in association with VICKRAM COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, ENATHI organizes All India Seminar on Recent Trends in Wireless and Mobile Technologies on 4th & 5th March 2016.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR:

Today, wired connections are slowly being replaced by different latest, emerging wireless technologies. Emergence of new wireless technologies has helped to bring out many new ideas and applications to the society. In this era, we all are expecting different solutions in the wireless field which helps to explode out many new types of wireless technology. Wireless technology is just a technical term given to describe telecommunication where the EM (electromagnetic) waves carry signal over communication path. Seminar will cover all aspects of mobile learning as well as the emergence of mobile communication technologies, infrastructures and services and their implications for education, business, government and society.

Objectives :

This seminar provides a comprehensive overview and advanced knowledge of modern mobile and wireless communication systems. Building on the prior knowledge of digital communications, students develop further understanding on the challenges and opportunities brought by the wireless medium in designing current and future wireless communication systems and networks.

• Architectures, protocols, and algorithms to cope with mobile & wireless networks.

• Routing and scheduling in wireless and mobile networks.

• Wireless technologies -Design and Evaluation.

• Traffic and network modeling in wireless and mobile networks.

• Recent standards in wireless & Mobile Networks.

A team of experts from NAAC visited our campus on 4th to 6th February 2016 and made an investigation of our infrastructure and all the social and educational activities in college.

The experts from NAAC team went to each of the departments of our college, and made their study about the quality of our activities.

In the process of their assessment, the NAAC team members interacted with staff, students, alumni, and parents, and got to know the standards of our services to our students.

Based on the assessment, NAAC has awarded B Grade with CGPA of 2.67 out of 4 for our Institution for a period of 5 Years w.e.f 19 February 2016.

Through NAAC Accreditation, our quality of services has been recognized at the international level, and this credit has come to us, thanks to the dedicated services of our Teaching, Non Teaching staff members, Parents, Alumni and Our students for their efforts and co- operation in achieving this success.
