Chairman & Founder of our College Mr. M.K.S. Sreenivasan made the keynote address. He observed that education is a life-long process and appreciated the new students and their parents for making the right decision in pursuing engineering studies in our college. He declared that the main objective of the college is to provide quality education to students and to develop them into employable engineers. He stressed that education is not merely getting a degree like B.E./B.Tech., but it is a process of self-development and empowering a professional towards the state of excellence.
He appealed to the students to entertain positive thinking, and to study with great involvement and interest in engineering subjects. He asked the students to visualize higher goals in life and to work smartly for the attainment of their dreams. Employability is nothing but the outcome of strenuous efforts taken by students in their four year study in the college.
Our Principal Prof. M. Palanikumar, in his address emphasized that Vickram College of Engineering is unique as it cares for generating employable graduates and discipline is the cardinal virtue of this institution – the violation of which will call for stringent action from the administration. He asked the students to be regular in attendance, and to start their studies from day one and to live up to the expectations of parents and other elders.
All the Heads of the departments addressed the students. Mrs. Usha Agnes spoke of the academic life in the campus. Prof. V. Jeyapaul Sathiasaran stressed upon the training and placement activities of the college over the last few years. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Sheeba Rani, HOD of EEE.
