National Level Workshop on " Imaging and Object Recognition I&OR - 2014" - 22 & 23 August 2014

About the Workshop:
Imaging and Object Recognition have become generic but vital tools in all the domains of Engineering and Technology. This workshop intends to bring many highly specialized and interesting lectures from professors of repute in the field. It provides an opportunity for researchers from prominent areas like computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, and computational geometry to effectively share their latest research, and new ideas and have panel discussions to demonstrate a good understanding of the image processing algorithms with ample examples. It also would focus and address challenging specific research issues in the field of object segmentation, feature extraction and object classification & recognition. In addition to UG/PG students, the Imaging and Object Recognition I & OR - 2014 workshop provides an opportunity to multidisciplinary research groups of both academia and industry.

Objectives:
Research topics on Image Processing are not uncommon. But with the rapid growth in the expertise level and indepth exploration of all facets of the image processing domain, most of the researchers have rightfully resorted to exploiting the power of image processing in their work to achieve solutions to a wide spectrum of complex issues. Hence it is considered appropriate that a well founded basic knowledge and current state-of-the-art expertise on image processing have become essential. The tenet of this workshop is that fundamental new advances in automated object recognition can be achieved by integrating the sophisticated geometric and physical image formation models developed in the computer vision community with the effective models of data distribution and classification procedures . Its goals are

• To promote the creation of an international object recognition community, with common datasets and evaluation procedures.
• To map the state of the art and identify the main open problems for synergistic research.
• To articulate the industrial and societal needs and opportunities for object recognition research worldwide.
