There was a Recruitment Drive conducted on 7^th January 20-14, for a Chennai-based Automotive Company - VST Motors Ltd in Vickram Polytechnic College, Enathi-630561. All the polytechnic institutions in and around Madurai were contacted to send their Final Year Diploma Students for participation in the Recruitment Campaign for this automotive company. On the day of recruitment, nearly 576 students from nearly 12 polytechnic colleges participated in the drive. The event started with a video show about the birth and development of the company, and its varied activities in the automotive industry. There were 6 officials who had represented the company for making the recruitment: 1) Ms. B. Senthil Kumari, Asst Manager – HR, 2) Sri N. Seetharaman, Branch Manager -- Sales, 3) Sri R. Sivarajan, Senior Executive – HR, 4) Ms R. Chithra, Executive – HR, 5) Sri Chinnapan, Senior Executive, & 6) Sri Arivazhagan, Administrative Officer, who got involved in the selection process.

The recruitment took place for the positions of Sales & Processing Trainees in the branches of the company across Tamilnadu. The skills which the interview panel expected from the participants are a) Aptitude for the Job, b) Knowledge of the Automotive Industry, and c) Interpersonal Skills. The monthly salary is Rs.6000/- to Rs.7000/-. Initially, the selected candidates will be absorbed into the company as trainees. After 6 months of training, the candidates will be placed on probation for another 6 months. After the completion of their probationary period, their salary will find revision.

After the initial presentation about the company by the company officials, one-to-one interview was held, in which all the 576 candidates from 12 polytechnic institutions participated. 

In the evening, the selection process came to an end, and the Company Officials announced the names of candidates, who got selected. The number of candidates who got recruited is 193 – 66 students from Vickram Polytechnic College, and the balance of 127 from other polytechnic institutions. These selected candidates will be absorbed into the company, soon after the completion of the course of study. The whole event took place under the stewardship of our Joint Secretary Sri Vikram, our Principal Srimathi M. Renga Bai, and the staff members of various departments.
