About the Conference

The objective of the conference is to provide a platform for the participants to disseminate and exchange latest advances in interdisciplinary engineering sciences.

This conference invites educators, engineers, mentors, researchers, students, as well as representatives from various consortiums who desire excellence in interdisciplinary engineering. Serving as an essential forum to share knowledge, the conference sheds light upon the most recent developments related to current scenario in various disciplines.

Interdisciplinary Engineering seeks to synthesise broader perspectives, skills, and epistemology which are embedded in an educational setting. Any tangible invention of man encompasses many fields of Engineering to gain its decorous shape and form. An ideal proof of this could be found in public sectors like railways, research organisations like ISRO, NASA and so on, where the diversified engineering fields are looked and dealt deeper through a variety of content-specific lens. Interdisciplinary programmes facilitate to understand the coherence among different engineering subjects, which cannot be adequately understood from a single disciplinary perspective. Indeed, it involves integrating and segmenting knowledge of several academic schools of thought wherein professionals work collaboratively in the pursuit of a common task.

Efficiency is the most important requirement in today's world, because of global warming, energy crisis, economic crisis and growing population needs. Sustainability has always been the answer in the past and the foreseeable need of the future. Sustainable management is the need of the hour as it improves economic efficiency, protects and restores ecological systems, and thereby enhances the quality of existence. But sustainable standards are subjected to continuous changes; for instance, things that were considered inconceivable years ago are now in vogue. In order to practice sustainable management, one has to do forward thinking in the long-run that could pave way for optimum utilisation of resources in such a way that it is not depleted.

The conference aims to bring the best ideas, innovative practices and solutions that the industry desperately seeks. ICIESMS 2015 intends to offer creative solutions which are practical and sustainable.

About the College

Vickram College of Engineering (VICKRAMCE) founded in the year 2001 is administered by engineers. It is located on Madurai-Sivagangai road. The college is an ISO 9001 certified organisation that offers holistic education providing equal thrust to both professional and personal development. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The Mechanical, Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering UG courses have been accredited by the NBA, New Delhi.

VICKRAMCE at present has around 1600 students undergoing various UG and PG courses. The college management and staff truly endeavour to Trust, Toil, and Triumph; the three traits which are depicted in the college logo. The college encourages students to learn engineering not only as an education but as means of true life.
