About the Conference

The objective of the conference is to provide platform for academicians, researchers and practitioners to disseminate and exchange latest advances in interdisciplinary engineering sciences.

This witty conference draws educators, engineers, mentors, researchers, students, as well as representatives from consortiums who desire excellence in interdisciplinary engineering. Serving as an essential forum to share knowledge, the conference sheds light upon the most recent developments in current scenario related to optimisation, transformation, communication, construction, cloud computing, space vector modulation techniques, matrix converters etc.

Interdisciplinary Engineering seeks to synthesise broader perspectives, skills, and epistemology which are embedded in an educational setting. Any tangible invention of man encompasses all fields of Engineering to gain its decorous shape and form. An ideal proof of this could be found in sectors like railways, research organisations like ISRO, NASA and so on where the diversified engineering fields are looked and dealt deeper through a variety of content specific lens. These interdisciplinary programmes cannot be adequately understood from a single disciplinary view; as engineering is a practical application of science, interrelating various fields of engineering. Indeed, it involves integrating and segmenting knowledge of several academic schools of thought wherein professionals work collaboratively in the pursuit of a common task.

Efficiency is the buzz word in today's world, because of global warming, energy crisis, economic crisis and growing population needs. Sustainability has always been the answer in the past and to the foreseeable needs of the future. Sustainable management is the need of the hour as it improves economic efficiency, protects, and restores ecological systems, and thereby enhances the quality of existence. But sustainable standards are subjected to continuous changes; for instance, things that were considered inconceivable years ago are now in vogue. In order to practice sustainable management, one has to carry, forward thinking in the long-run that could pave way for optimum utilisation of resources in such a way that it is not depleted.

The conference aims to bring the best ideas, innovative practices and solutions that the industry desperately seeks. ICIESMS 2013 intends to offer creative solutions which are practical, sustainable, and interrelated as the name of the conference goes.

About the College

Vickram College of Engineering (VICKRAMCE) is founded and managed by engineers. Located on Madurai Sivagangai road, it is an ISO 9001 certified organisation that offers holistic education giving equal thrust to professional and personal development. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai

VICKRAMCE commenced in the year 2001; and at present, there are about 1600 students across the country pursuing engineering under various departments. The college deeply trusts in 3T's: Trust, Toil, and Triumph; and encourages the same to the students teaching them that education is not a mere preparation of life, but it in itself is life.
